DIY Dresser Makeover Challenge: Spray Painted Chevron Dresser DIY
I have owned this dresser since college; an inexpensive IKEA purchase that has served me for 15+ years. Now, as part of making my walk-in closet prettier and standing out from others’, this project was perfect timing to participate in Krylon’s Make It Yours contest as an entry. Here is my spray painted chevron dresser DIY using their spray paint!
Instructions:
Here’s the dresser before it was transformed by my trash to treasure guide, available at any thrift store near you. Learn why secondhand furniture shopping makes economic sense as well as useful tips and project ideas in my trash to treasure guide.
I took apart only the drawer fronts and tops, leaving intact their shell sides and back.
FrogTape Shape Tape was used to tape off chevron stripes on the front of my drawer.
I used Krylon Peekaboo Blue paint on the dresser front and top surface and Krylon Gray paint for its chevron stripes, spray painting two coats allowing each coat to dry in between applications. Make sure you spray in an area with plenty of ventilation if you choose spray painting; consider wearing a facemask as well.
